Once again, OMGBA will be offering tryout clinics for those interested in trying out for traveling basketball or those just wanting to learn more and practice the fundamentals of basketball. There will also be some 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 scrimmaging similiar to the scrimmages that will take place at tryouts. Along with participating and reviewing the drills and skills, the players will learn more about the tryout process and hints as to what evaluators are looking for. OMGBA is trying something new - a 10,000 Shot Club! The program is designed to encourage players to work on their game over the summer. Parents are encouraged to use the forms to develop their own program as needed. While the summer is mostly gone, see what you can do - but get started early and send the application in by Monday 8/23/10!

The Traveling Basketball Coaches Selection Committee met with many qualified coaching candidates in May and selected coaches for most of the planned coaching positions for the upcoming traveling basketball season. “We continue to be fortunate to have many interested and qualified coaching candidates in our community. This again led to many tough coaching decisions,” said Jim Davison, Traveling Basketball Commissioner. “We still have openings at the 5th grade boys, 6th grade boys, 8th grade boys, and 6th grade girl’s levels.” Parents and other coaching candidates are encouraged to contact Jim Davison at travelingcommissioner@omgba.net if interested.
The 3rd Monday of every month (except July - no meeting) at the Maple Grove Community Center (except June - we meet offsite) at 7:00p.m. Open to the public. If you'd like to get on the agenda, email the president.
