Elementary Commissioner Job Description

Description

The Elementary Commissioner over-sees all coordinators and activities in the K through 4th grade programs.  5th Graders are in the middle school program.  This position coordinates open house volunteers, and also runs and coordinates all coaches meetings for these programs.

Responsiblities

Make sure there are coordinators for all programs from Introduction to basketball, 1st & 2nd grade, and 3rd & 4th grade for both fall and winter and that they are trained and educated on how to perform the duties of their position.

Coordinate volunteers to be at the elementary school open houses.  Make sure signs are put up and taken down.  Supply volunteers with flyers, poster and instructions for the open houses.

Make sure all coaches are found and follow-up with coordinators to insure they have completed the trusted coaches program and back ground checks for 3rd & 4th.

Run all coaches meetings and make sure all rules and policies and procedures are updated and communicated.  Work with those responsible for pictures, equipment, trophies, refs, etc.    Coordinate getting copies of all game and practice schedules, scoresheets, rules and procedures and other documents for the meetings.

Make sure all Equipment is at the elementary schools and score clocks and balls are checked each year.  Make sure court lines are taped where needed. Get to know the building supervisors at the elementary schools.

Assist coordinators throughout the year with coach, parent and player issues. Also be available on the 1st day of games to make sure courts are set up correctly.

Help coordinate the end of season tournament.  Work with the player recognition person on quantities and content of trophies and medals for the tournament. 

Collect, review and store all end of season evaluations.

Continually look at ways to improve the programs.
