President Job Description

Description

The President guides the direction of the OMGBA and represents the association when dealing with partners (MYAS, ISD 279, City of Maple Grove, etc.). the community, and other associations. This position oversees all functions and committees within the OMGBA and sits on the MYBA advisory committee.

Responsibilities

  • Serves on the Executive Committee and set up meetings as needed.
  • Reviews the board meeting minutes prior to distribution.
  • Sets the agenda for and leads monthly board meetings and voting.
  • Updates all policies, procedures and By-Laws and ensures they are up to date and followed.
  • Manages the Sponsorship Program.
  • Picks-up, reviews, and distributes all activity from the PO Box.
  • Signs tax returns, annual filings and checks.
  • Manages the associations insurance coverage.
  • Attend coaches meetings, parent meetings, tryouts, drafts and other events as needed.
  • Reviews monthly financials and bank statements.
  • Manages the President@OMGBA email and deals daily with  questions and concerns from board members, participants, and all outside groups.

Treasury Functions Currently Covered by the President

OMGBA has hired Jenson & Co. to provide all bookkeeping, check processing, payroll, and tax support.  In addition to this activity, the President and the Director of Ops also help manage the financial activities within the OMGBA.

  • Reviews, approves, and codes OMGBA expenses including credit card activity.
  • Provides detail and coding for all income activity aside from registration.
  • Supports the Director of Ops with analyzing and reconciling the P&L.
  • Manages OMGBA event accounting and provides seed money for cash needs.
  • Responsible for all bank deposits.
  • Meets with Jenson & Co. to set expectations and the needs of the OMGBA.

Other

The President is elected by a majority vote of the Board Members present for the April Meeting, and takes over at the conclusion of the meeting.
