Vice President Job Description

Description

The Vice President serves as an officer of the OMGBA; supports the President & the Executive Committee in guiding the direction of the OMGBA and, in coordination with the President, represents the OMGBA with partners, the community and other associations. In absence of the President, the Vice President oversees all functions, committees and programs of the OMGBA; fulfills the responsibilities of the President; and carries out any other responsibilities as prescribed by the OMGBA Board.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an officer of OMGBA and a member of the Executive Committee and attends all executive committee meetings and OMGBA board meetings.
  • In the absence of the President, fulfills the responsibilities of the President, including setting the agenda and leading meetings, and overseeing the organization.
  • Administers the Trusted Coaches certification program, including background checks, for the OMGBA board members and OMGBA coaches.
  • Administers the OMGBA scholarship program.
  • Coordinates all off-site/in-person board meeting dinners.
  • Attends coaches meetings, parent meetings, tryouts, drafts, clinics, hosted-tournaments and other program events as possible.
  • Assists Treasurer or Registrar as needed with payment issues including non-payment, charge-backs, and returned checks.
  • Supports other OMGBA Board members as needed including attending program events, answering questions, providing advice, meeting with board member and parent and/or coaches, etc.
  • Manages an OMGBA support email, reviewing and responding to emails daily regarding questions, comments or concerns from board members, coaches, parents, players or other interested parties.
  • Other responsibilities as prescribed by the OMGBA board.

The Vice President is elected by a majority vote of the OMGBA board members present for the April board meeting and assumes office at the conclusion of the April meeting (or, if elected in a different meeting, at the conclusion of the meeting in which the vote takes place).
