Director of Operations Job Description

Description

Currently this position provides support to all other board positions and is the contact point for board members, outside parties and all participants. This position supports board members in keeping the  website information updated, over-sees all programs, completes all the scheduling and permitting of gyms, manages all registration activity, oversees all tryouts and drafts, attends all coaches meetings, supports the NWML and communities, and participates on the executive board.

The current Operations Director also fulfills all responsibilities of the Gym Scheduler and the Registration Director.  

Responsibilities

 

  1. Maintains and updates the master OMGBA Calendar.  Includes planning for all programs.
  2. Works with board members to keep all program information current on the web site.
  3. Makes sure all board positions are filled and are provided adequate instruction to complete their responsibilities.
  4. Communicates with registered players/parents through the registration site/mass emails.
  5. Serves as a central focal point for questions from all board members, coaches, players, outside parties, Community Ed, Park & Rec, and anyone trying to reach OMGBA.
  6. Coordinates the Northwest Metro league with schedules, tournaments, and financials. (The NWML consists of OMGBA, BPAA, CDAA, Rogers and Armstrong)
  7. Provides support and resources for the Traveling Committee. Helps to coordinate and run travel tryouts and clinics. Helps review tryout procedures at the travel coaches meeting. Helps with travel team formation.  Works as a site supervisor for tournaments and an evaluator for tryouts.
  8. Helps to develop, approve, and distribute flyers through peachjar.
  9. Creates the annual budget and analyzes past years deviations. Helps develop program fees based on costs.
  10. Reviews the P&L monthly and makes sure activity is properly accounted for and within the budget.
  11. Works on adding new programs, program improvements, increasing registration numbers, and recruiting board members.
  12. Aids other board members with Scholarships, refunds, trusted coaches, background checks, uniforms, and equipment.
  13. Helps to recruit volunteers for tournaments, evaluators, and other none board member activities as needed.

OTHER

The Operations Director position as it currently stands is a paid position and acts as a consultant to the OMGBA Board.  This position and it's stipend is voted on annually by the executive committee.
