4th - 8th Grade Travel Basketball Registration Information
OMGBA has a Traveling League for 4th through 8th Grade. Traveling teams tend to pick up extra practice time when available, play more games (weekend tournaments), and play a higher level of competition. If your son or daughter is interested in traveling, register them for the proper House League and when the online registration asks about traveling, answer "yes". Your initial fee will cover the tryout.
In an effort to provide a better tryout experience for our players and allow our evaluators to focus more time on those that will make a travel team, we are planning to limit the number or players returning on day 2 of tryouts. If players score low in the skills and small sided scrimmages on day 1 to the point, we know they will be best served in the house league program, we will not ask them to return on day 2. Parents will need to check the website the morning following the 1st night of tryouts to see if their child should come back for night 2.
**If your son/daughter makes a travel team, you will need to pay an additional fee for tournaments and volunteer at our home tournament.**
**If your son/daughter makes a travel team and decides not to play, there will be NO refund, and that player will not be able to participate in OMGBA for the current and following year.**
**OMGBA uses the DIBS Volunteer System for volunteer requirements for 4th - 8th Grade Traveling basketball families. ALL FAMILIES ARE REQUIRED TO SIGN UP. For more information see the "Volunteer Info" tab .**
Boys and Girls Traveling Pictures will be taken Saturday of their home tournament at MGMS between 8am & 6pm in Gym C. Time determined by coach.
Check out our Traveling Team Guidelines. Our process of picking players is more transparent than ever. If you have further questions regarding this program please contact the President or the Traveling Commissioner on the contacts page.

Those selected for a travel team will pay an additional fee to cover the tournament entry costs. Once assigned to a travel team, you must play on that team or forfeit all initial fees paid. If your child does not make a traveling team, they will already be signed up for the House League. OMGBA only has places for about 300 players in traveling but has about 2000 players in our House Program, which is an excellent program.
**A MANDATORY PARENT/GUARDIAN MUST ATTEND PARENT MEETING. A parent meeting for each grade level will take place on the first day of that grade level tryout at the tryout start time. Parent meeting will take about 20 minutes.**
All tryouts will be held at the Maple Grove Community Gym behind Maple Grove Middle School.

For players that do not make a travel team, if you would like a player evaluation form that provides feedback on how they did in tryouts, you can reach out to Rory, Linda or Tyler. We will do our best to get this form back to you within a week of the last boys tryout, Thursday, Oct 2nd.
If you have been placed on a travel team, you MUST play on that team. There are NO refunds once you make a team.
