The Champlin 3 on 3 Tourney is held each season at Champlin Park High School. There are shooting contests to go along with the 3 on 3 portion of the event. Concessions are available, and admissions are charged. The schedule for the event (Saturday portion) will be emailed directly to each coach the week prior to the event. Sunday brackets are done real time, and coaches will not know their schedules until Saturday night (as late as 11pm). The event is held late January each season.

Each team is automatically "registered" for this event.  Please let your players know about the tournament ASAP so that they can take off work, etc.  This tournament is not on the game schedule, so your assistance in communicating this tournament to your team is greatly appreciated.  A team that does not show up will result in unplayable games for other teams.

·           Each NWML team is split into two 3 x 3 teams. 

·           The Blue Division players should be your highest-skilled players. 

·           The Red Division team should be your lesser-skilled players. 

·           Another email will be sent soon with more details on how your team is split.  We also collect this information to ensure fair play at the RED Division.

·           Concessions will be available all weekend. 

·           We will also have Athletic Trainers there in case of any injuries.

·           Remind your parents that there is an ADMISSION FEE for this tournament (non-coaches/players). 

Tournament Format

·           3-on-3 half-court

·           Blue teams will play other Blue teams from your age group

·           Red teams will play other Red teams from your age group

·           Saturday pool games (at least 3) are used to create Sunday’s Tournament brackets (at least 2 games unless you have a 1st-round BYE)

·           Coaches will be contacted after all the Saturday games have been played to learn of their Sunday game times

Shooting Skills Contests

·           In addition to the 3-on-3 tournament, there are 3 shooting contests

o   Free-throw

o   3-Point

o   2-Ball (2 contestants)

·           Each NWML team can select their team representatives in any manner, but are encouraged to have inter-squad contests to choose.

·           A player may not participate in more than one contest. 

·           Substitutes may be chosen at the event, but only with authorization from that team’s head coach.

·           Preliminary rounds are shot on Saturday of the tournament (whenever the players are not in a game)
