Traveling Administration

Description

The core responsibility for the positions is to ensure scheduling and coordination for all of the Boys/Girls traveling teams.   For grades 5-8, this includes 10 tournaments for each team.   4th Grade travel begins in January and includes 5 travel tournaments.  All include Grade State.   

Responsibilities

 

  1. May - June – Assist as needed for selection of coaches for Fall Season (sit on panel).
  2. July - Meet with selected coaches, fill out tournament schedules.
  3. July - October – Begin registrations, especially for large tournaments in July.  Adjust where needed depending on number of teams at each level.
  4. September/October – Assist traveling coordinator during tryouts as requested.
  5. October - Address tryout repercussions to tournament schedule, if any.  Administer uniform, handouts and money collections.
  6. October – Finalize tournament schedules and send to admin or webmaster for posting.
  7. October – Assist Tournament Director.  Volunteer for opposite gender's tournament.
  8. November - March – During tournaments season, be prepared to support coaches and parents related to questions.   Check in each week with tournament schedules to ensure we have teams assigned.  Mistakes have been make.
  9. December – Assist tournament directors in planning and organizing 4th grade travel tryouts.
  10. January – Prepare, register and distribute to teams for State Tournament.
  11. March – Close out books to ensure continuity for following year.
