3rd & 4th Grade Winter Coordinator

Description

There are 2 Coordinators for winter - A boys coordinator and a girls coordinator. 3rd and 4th Graders are combined. Each coordinator is responsible for their own gender.

Coordinate, organize, and oversee the program from registration through the end of season tournament.  Find coaches and make sure they complete all necessary requirements to coach. Help to run the player tryout and coach draft.  Attend any coaches meeting or clinics and make sure coaches have practice schedules, games schedules, rules, draft procedures, and all information required for their success. Collect scores and weekly skills information and report standings.  Be available for questions from coaches or parents regarding the program. Be present at the end-of-season tournament to hand out trophies and skills medals.  Review on-line evaluation information. 

Responsibilities

January

  1. Obtain potential coaches list from registration and begin calling and recruiting coaches.
  2. Finalize Coaches and update Trusted Coaches Doc to assure all coaches complete the necessary requirements to coach. Most of this should be done as coach's coached in the fall.
  3. Coordinate coaches packets and equipment for coaches meeting. Provide labeled folders for practice and games schedules, draft procedures, parent information, rules, skills information, & score sheets.        
  4. Help run the player tryouts and coaches draft. Communicate and coordinate all contact information for team rosters from the draft.                      
  5. Follow-up on uniform number issues and coach's shirts.

February - Mid-March

  1. Collect game and skills information from each coach after each game and post standings on website.
  2. Attend at least one of each teams games - A good idea to be visible and witness some things for yourself.
  3. Answer coach and parent questions throughout the program - This would include playing time issues, practice requests, parent complaints in general, coaches issues with players,etc.
  4. Sets up end of season tournament final brackets- Often 2 tiers, Distribute schedule to coaches, obtain trophies. Distribute trophies during tournament.
  5. Calculate best and most improved skills recipients and award those medals during the tournament.
  6. Report monthly to the board - Give an over-all update of how things are going.
