"November - May, great OMGBA teams are made.  Summer is when great players are made."

After completing the challenge please email the shot chart completely filled out to krebs44@gmail.com with "10k Shot Challenge" in the subject.   Forms are due by Sep 15th 11:59pm.

Who Can Participate?

Anyone going into 2nd - 8th grade who participated on an OMGBA house or travel team in the 2022-2023 season.

How Do I Sign Up?

Simple, just complete the form by either printing or downloading the shot chart and returning it to krebs44@gmail.com.  All shots should be tracked and counted accurately.

What kind of shots should I take?

Shots should be game shots, catching and shooting, shooting off the dribble, etc.  These should be done with proper form.  Good video examples can be found on the right.

25% layups, 50% jump shots, 25% free throws.

Example workout:

  • 25 Layups (right and left) then 10 free throws (Repeat 2x)
  • 25 Jump Shots then 10 Free throws  (Repeat 2x)
  • Total 140 shots

Do I only record made shots?

No, record all shots taken made or missed.  All shots count towards your goal and completion of the challenge.  However, it is always a good idea to have some knowledge of how you are progressing. Recording makes and misses on your own is a great way to do that.

What about horse or lightning?

While we would love most shots to be game style shots, anytime your child can have a basketball in their hand and shooting, they will all count.

Does a parent have to watch every shot?

No, Parents only need to verify that, to the best of their knowledge, their child had the time and opportunity to shoot the shots.  It is the players responsibility to accurately track the number of shots taken.  This will strictly be an on your honor challenge.

How much does it cost?

Nothing, It's free.
